ATHENS, Ga. (May 10, 2026) - Atlanta United 2 fell 2-0 to Orlando City B on Sunday at Turner Soccer Complex in Athens. Atlanta United U-18 Academy players Amir Henry and Andrew Jardines made their professional debuts in the match.
Orlando controlled most of the possession early. In the 8th minute, Daniel Chica, one-on-one with Orlando’s Harvey Sarajian in the box, mistimed a challenge on the left midfielder, and the referee awarded a penalty. The ensuing effort from the spot was converted by Orlando right midfielder Gustavo Caraballo to give his side the lead.
In the 27th minute, Atlanta had an opportunity against the run of play. Mohamed Cisset, who was pressing an Orlando defender on the left wing, generated a high turnover, promptly dribbling into the Orlando penalty area. Cisset then laid off a ball to Cameron Dunbar standing centrally, but Dunbar’s right-footed shot curled past the far post and out of play.
Orlando nearly added a second in the final minute of the half. Sarajian, who dispossessed Chica in the Atlanta defensive third, dribbled past Cisset to leave himself alone with Jayden Hibbert. Striking the ball from just outside of the box, Sarajian’s effort bounced off the inside of the near post before spinning across the goal line and eventually out of play.
25 minutes into the second half, Chica was sent off after an attempt to win the ball from Sarajian in the Atlanta defensive third. Chica’s sliding tackle caught too much of the man, and the referee issued a second yellow card, reducing Atlanta to 10 men for the remainder of the match.
In the 75th minute, Orlando doubled its lead. Sarajian, receiving a pass on the left side of the midfield stripe, timed a through ball and released attacking midfielder Issah Haruna behind the Atlanta back line. Haruna, who was clear of the defense and in the box, waited for Hibbert to come off his line before slotting the ball into the bottom right corner of the net to make it 2-0.
Atlanta’s best chance of the night came in the 87th minute. Adrian Gill whipped a cross into the Orlando box from a free kick on the left flank, and it took a deflection off Cisset before landing at the feet of Moises Tablante directly in front of goal. Tablante’s ensuing strike hit the top crossbar and bounced down just in front of the goal line, but the danger was cleared, and Orlando saw out a 2-0 victory.
Atlanta United 2 (5-3-1, 16 points) returns to action Saturday, May 16, when it travels to Huntsville to face Huntsville City FC at Wicks Family Field (8 p.m. ET, MLSNEXTPro.com, OneFootball App, Soccer Down Here).
