Last Time Out
ATL UTD 2 is coming off a 4-1 home defeat to FC Cincinnati 2 on Sunday, April 21. Cincinnati struck first in the 16th minute when Gerardo Valenzuela played a through ball to Moises Tablante, who got off a shot from a difficult angle and struck the ball to the roof of the net. The visitors doubled their lead in the 33rd when Peter Magione followed up a shot saved by Atlanta for a tap in. ATL UTD 2 pulled one back in the 42nd minute when Javier Armas sent in a cross that found Erik Centeno at the top of the box, who left it off for Karim Tmimi to hit home. In the 55th, Nicholas Benalcazar collected a pass behind Atlanta’s defense inside the box to claim Cincinnati’s third. Benjamin Stitz capped off the scoring in the 67th after capitalizing on chaos in the box, collecting the ball just outside the six-yard box to slot away a right footed shot.

Welcome Ramzi
Last week, Atlanta United 2 announced the signing of defender Ramzi Qawasmy. The 24-year-old defender joins ATL UTD 2 after spending the 2023 season with USL Championship side Louisville City FC where he made two appearances. Prior to his time with Louisville, Qawasmy had a prolific collegiate career with Providence College, making 88 appearances, all starts, over five seasons. During his tenure with the Friars, Qawasmy netted seven goals and one assist from 2018-22 and was a four-time All-BIG EAST honoree. While in college, Qawasmy also played for Reading United (USL League Two) in 2021 and West Chester United (USL League Two) in 2022. Qawasmy made his Atlanta United debut off the bench against FC Cincinnati 2.
