Nelson Orji scored his second goal of the season on a set piece in Atlanta’s last match, a 1-1 draw against Las Vegas Lights FC.

JUSTIN GARCES

Justin Garces has made 15 saves across his last two matches, including a full-stretch stop against Las Vegas’ Christian Torres that was nominated for USL Championship Fans’ Choice Save of the Week.

With 56 saves on the season, the Homegrown goalkeeper now ranks fifth among USLC goalkeepers.

The 21-year-old has saved 69.6 percent of the 218 shots he’s faced this season.

BIRMINGHAM LEGION IN 2022

Saturday’s match will mark exactly one month since the last fixture between Birmingham Legion and Atlanta, a 3-3 draw at Fifth Third Bank Stadium in which the hosts stormed back from a two-goal deficit.

Legion FC has hit a run of form since then, winning four of its last five games to climb into the top five of the Eastern Conference.

Much of this is to do with the play of midfielder Bruno Lapa, who recorded the first hat trick in club history last week in the team’s 6-1 victory against Loudoun United.
