26-year-old Karim Tmimi earned his first professional start in Atlanta's last game against Philadelphia. Tmimi ended up scoring the lone and decisive goal, the first of his pro career, to give ATL UTD 2 its third straight win, a new record for the franchise. In their three consecutive victories, ATL UTD 2 have scored six goals and have only conceded once.
The 2s will have a new player on its roster for this game and the rest of the season: 15-year-old Academy product Adyn Torres. Torres, who is from Stone Mountain, Georgia, has been called up by the USMNT U-16s and was named to the U-15 Best XI Team at the 2022 Generation adidas Cup last June where he helped Atlanta’s U-15s advance to the semifinals. The midfielder will become an Atlanta United Homegrown player on January 1, 2024.
