Mike Gomes joined AMB Sports & Entertainment Group as Senior Vice President, Fan Experience in 2014. In this newly created position, Gomes is responsible for designing and implementing innovative strategies to enhance the game-day and event experience for Atlanta Falcons fans at the Georgia Dome, as well as for Atlanta United FC and event guests at Mercedes-Benz Stadium set to open in 2017. Gomes will oversee game-day and special event multimedia production teams, fan experience programing, and in–stadium communications, as well all email marketing and digital media engagements with fans across mobile, web, and social channels.
Prior to joining AMB Sports & Entertainment Group, Gomes enjoyed a 20+year career with Walt Disney Parks and Resorts and he left as Vice President Experience Development and Media Strategy. He was promoted to executive in 2000 and to Vice President in 2007, and during that time Gomes was involved in the strategy and launch of several new guest experience enhancements including new products, services, and events at Walt Disney World and other Disney theme parks across the world. During his career at Disney, Gomes held a variety of roles with responsibilities in product management, business development, web/mobile development and ecommerce, operations, technical strategy, and corporate alliances, and he has been named on three US patents.
A native of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, Gomes holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. He and his wife Amy along with their three children, Lindsay, Ryan, and Tyler, reside in Sandy Springs, GA.
