Scott Ashworth

Scott Ashworth joined the Atlanta United front office team fulltime in 2017 as Team Security Manager. Scott oversees the protection of the team and staff for Atlanta United and ATL UTD 2 including match day security and day to day operations at Atlanta United’s world class training facility. Scott specializes in threat intelligence and investigations.

Prior to joining Atlanta United, Scott served 10 years with the Forest Park Police Department, rising to the rank of Lieutenant. While part of the force, Scott was integral in establishing the Crime Scene Investigation Unit, which today is a leading example to police departments across the United States.  He also spearheaded several technological initiatives including establishing a drone program to assist with surveillance, investigations, and search and rescue cases and advocated the use of body cameras to increase transparency and public trust.

Scott grew up in Atlanta proper and graduated with a Criminal Justice degree from Clayton State University. He remains involved with the university as an active member of the Alumni Board. He also serves as a reserve police officer for the Forest Park Police Department volunteering with the COPS and Cadet programs.

Scott and his wife Holly live in Atlanta and are expecting their first child in November 2018.
