Atlanta United 2 successfully appeal Tyler Ruthven’s red card

Atlanta United 2 successfully appealed a red card given to defender Tyler Ruthven’s during last weekend’s Aug. 31 match at Toronto FC II. Ruthven will be available for the team’s next match against Penn FC.

The red card, given for violent conduct, was overturned following a review by a panel comprised of representatives of the U.S. Soccer Federation, Canadian Soccer Association and Professional Referees Organization. Ruthven was sent off during first half stoppage time with Atlanta leading 1-0 at the time. ATL UTD 2 went on to win the match 2-1 behind two goals from Lagos Kunga.

Ruthven was signed by ATL UTD 2 Aug. 14 from Miami FC. He has started all three matches for Atlanta since joining the club.

ATL UTD 2’s match at Penn FC kicks off at 7:00 p.m. EST at FNB Field in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The match will be streamed live on ESPN+.
