Career Summary

Atlanta United signed midfielder Amar Sejdić from CF Montreal on July 7, 2021. The midfielder made 10 appearances and five starts for Atlanta in 2021 MLS play after making seven appearances with four starts for CF Montreal.  

Sejdić, 24, was selected by CF Montreal in the second round (No. 34 overall) of the 2019 MLS SuperDraft. In three seasons, he appeared in 22 matches with 12 starts. In 2020, Sejdić made 14 appearances with seven starts while scoring two goals. He also started in Montreal’s lone MLS Cup Playoff match, adding an assist in a 2-1 loss to New England. Sejdić made three appearances during the 2020 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League and scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory vs. Olimpia in the second leg match of the quarterfinals. 

A graduate from the University of Maryland, Sejdić had an illustrious college career that was capped off by winning the 2018 NCAA Championship, in which he scored the game’s only goal, en route to being named the College Cup Most Valuable Player. In four seasons at Maryland, he played in 82 matches, scored 22 goals and added 16 assists.
