As the halfway point of Atlanta United’s inaugural season fades in the rear view mirror, here’s the moments that have made the club’s debut year so memorable:
Preseason training
With anticipation among Atlanta United fans ready to bubble over, what a sight it was to see the Five Stripes take the field for the first time.
The first match
The first of many sold-out crowds at Bobby Dodd Stadium. A night fans will never forget.
The first goal
A magical moment that brought a sold-out stadium to its feet. Yamil Asad makes history as the club’s first ever goalscorer
The first win
Some may know it as the snow game, others as the club’s first win. But one thing’s for certain: it was a statement.
The training ground
The training ground was another sign of Atlanta United’s commitment to the city it calls home.
Houston had a problem
A rain delay couldn’t put a damper on Atlanta’s scintillating attack, with Miguel Almirón’s first hat trick for the club highlighting a dominant display over the Dynamo.
First Homegrown debut
Andrew Carleton became the team’s first Homegrown signing well before the season started, but his debut for the senior team was a historic moment for the club.
Cup debut
Another match delayed by weather, but Atlanta showed resilience to fight back to win their Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup debut over the Charleston Battery.
