Atlanta United 2 fell 3-1 to Loudoun United at Segra Field on Saturday night.

Loudoun were awarded an early penalty after Abdoul Zanne was brought down in the Atlanta box. Tyler Freeman stepped up to take the spot kick, sending Vicente Reyes the wrong way and converting to open the scoring in the eighth minute.

Jackson Conway equalized in acrobatic fashion in the 22nd minute. On the right side, Luke Brennan drove through a crowd of Loudoun players and was able to cross a ball to the middle of the penalty area. With his back to goal, Conway flicked a shot over his own head and past goalkeeper Luis Zamudio for his team-leading seventh goal of the season.

A second penalty was awarded to Loudoun in the second half after Nelson Orji was penalized for a handball inside the box. Zanne used a slow walk-up on his penalty and shot toward the middle of the goal; however, Reyes reached with his left hand while diving to the right and managed to keep the shot out with a fingertip save.

The hosts re-established their lead in the 68th minute through an own goal. Houssou Landry put a dangerous ball into the box, which Orji flicked past Reyes on an attempted clearance.

Loudoun scored its third and final goal in stoppage time. With Atlanta committing numbers forward in search of its second equalizer, Zoumana Diarra was able to dribble into the box and lay off a pass for Jeremy Garay, who tucked a finish into the inside of the post.

ATL UTD 2 (4-20-4, 16 points) returns to Fifth Third Bank Stadium in Kennesaw, Georgia to face Pittsburgh Riverhounds on Saturday, Aug. 27 (7:30 p.m., ESPN+).
