Atlanta United 2 fell 3-1 to Phoenix Rising FC on Saturday night at Wild Pass Stadium. Vicente Reyes made 4 saves on the night, setting a new ATL UTD 2 single-season save record with 86 saves in 2022.

Reyes made a save on a shot from Phoenix forward Santi Moar in the 43rd minute, the 18-year-old goalkeeper’s third save of the evening. This cemented Reyes as the holder of the ATL UTD 2 single-season save record, besting Dylan Castanheira’s record of 84 saves set in 2019.

Gabi Torres scored the first goal of the matchup in the 53rd minute. Phoenix captain Luis Seijas was able to find Torres on the left edge of the Atlanta penalty area and the Brazilian hit the inside of the right-side netting with a left-footed shot.

Phoenix doubled its advantage in the 58th minute. Moar played a one-two pass with Torres in the Phoenix box before shooting toward the Atlanta net. Reyes was able to get a hand to the ball but the Spaniard’s shot then deflected onto the bar and into the goal.

The hosts scored their third in the 72nd minute through leading Phoenix goal-scorer Aodhan Quinn. A shot from Seijas was blocked by an Atlanta defender and fell to Quinn, who took a touch before tallying his ninth goal of the season.

Jackson Conway established a new single-season scoring record for ATL UTD 2 on Sept. 3, which the striker tacked onto tonight with his 11th goal of the season in the 80th minute. Tristan Trager received an Alan Carleton pass near the byline and centered a pass toward Conway, despite being pressured by goalkeeper Ben Lundt. Conway finished the easy tap-in opportunity and scratched one back for the visitors.
