Atlanta United eSports duo Paulo Neto and Vini Leiva looking ahead to a busy July, including the FIFAe World Cup

Paulo Neto and Vini Leiva, Atlanta United eSports duo, are gearing up for a busy month of July.

First, they will go back to London to play in the 2022 EA Sports FIFA Global Series Playoffs (FGS Playoffs), the first global 1-on-1 pro tournament held since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

This means that for this tournament they will not be competing as a team, but rather on their own, for a prize amount of USD $10,000 and a spot in the FIFAe World Cup, to be played in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Paulo Neto earned his spot in the FGS Playoffs after being crowned eMLS Cup champion back in March, when the in-person tournament was held at South by Southwest in Austin, Texas. Vini Leiva, on the other hand, qualified to the tournament thanks to his current FIFA Global Series Ranking, as he’s sitting at number 10 in the Latin America South region.

Atlanta United Brazilian gamers will be among the 128-player field competing in the event from June 30 to July 3 in London, England, and are two out of the seven eMLS representatives in the competition. The top 32 players from the FGS Playoffs will qualify for the FIFAe World Cup.

Below is the breakdown of the Global Series Playoff prize money:
