Today, Atlanta United will train in Los Angeles before their Sunday Night Soccer match against LAFC at 9 p.m. ET. The 5-Stripes will take in the SoCal sunshine as they get their feet under them on the West Coast. According to the club's availability report Saturday, the list of players training today is smaller than last week.
Luke Brennan misses his second match while away with the United States U-20 Men's National Team. The side is already off to a flying start, and Brennan assisted a goal in their 3-0 win over France in the group stage October 2. The 5-Stripes will likely miss him for the remainder of the regular season if the U.S. makes a deep run in the tournament.
On the injury front, Matt Edwards and Will Reilly are both still working to heal hamstring injuries. Brooks Lennon is also listed as he deals with an Achilles injury. Nyk Sessock is working back to health from an illness.
Even with those additions to the availability report, head coach Ronny Deila will have the chance for consistency in his starting XI. The 5-Stripes have trotted out the same lineup to start the last two matches, a mark of continuity that's been hard to match this season. All 11 of those players are healthy and in the matchday squad.
"Now we have consistency," Deila said after training back in Atlanta Friday. "We don't have many players come up with injuries or different things. We have the same selections every week. That is a thing that is important to get success. I'm very, very happy about that."
