Killer Mike - Atlanta Native Rapper, Actor and Activist

Born in Atlanta, Killer Mike is a hip hop artist and an influential social activist. After growing up in the city and attending Morehouse College where he met Big Boi, he made his debut in the music scene on OutKast’s “Snappin and Trappin” from their 2000 album Stankonia. His first solo album, Monster, was released in 2003, and it includes Killer Mike’s highest Billboard-charting single “A.D.I.D.A.S” featuring Big Boi and Sleepy Brown from the highly successful production team Organized Noize. He’s released six solo albums in total and appeared as a guest artist in more than 30 singles, including OutKast’s “The Whole World” for which he won a Grammy Award.

Killer Mike is also part of the hip-hop duo Run The Jewels, together with Brooklyn-based producer El-P. The duo have released four studio albums and have won and being nominated to multiple awards, including Grammy Awards, UK Music Video Awards, and NME Awards. Growing up in Atlanta, Killer Mike has always been interested in civic engagement and political activism. He’s been an advocate for social equality, black-owned businesses and outspoken about police brutality and systemic racism.

Killer Mike is featured in the 2023 Atlanta United FC production ‘Inside the 404’, where he talks about the influence HBCUs had in the city, as well as how OutKast changed the music scene in the mid-90s. ‘Inside the 404’ is a documentary produced by Atlanta United FC in collaboration with Atlanta Influences Everything, as part of the launch of the 404 Kit, Atlanta United’s 2023 third kit.
