Atlanta United today announced that it has signed defenders Daniel Chica and Matthew Senanou and midfielder Cameron Dunbar to Short-Term Agreements for Saturday’s match against New York City FC at Mercedes-Benz Stadium (7:30 p.m. ET, Apple TV, 92.9 The Game, La Mejor). This will be the first Short-Term Agreement for each player this season.
Per 2026 MLS Roster Rules and Regulations, a club may sign a player, age 25 or younger during the league season, from its affiliate (MLS NEXT Pro) to a maximum of four Short-Term Agreements (up to four-day contracts) each season (maximum of 16 days). An individual player may be included on up to four MLS league season match rosters each season, however, that player may appear in no more than two MLS league season matches. An individual player may appear in any number of non-league games during the terms of his four Short-Term Agreements.
Chica, 24, has made 26 appearances and recorded four goals and one assist for Atlanta United 2 this season, helping the team finish third in the MLS NEXT Pro Eastern Conference regular season standings and qualify for the postseason for the first time in club history. Chica signed with ATL UTD 2 prior to the 2026 season and previously played for Loudon United FC, Lexington SC and Carolina Core FC after a two-year collegiate career at George Mason University.
Dunbar, 23, was recently named MLS NEXT Pro’s Playmaker of the Year as the winger led the league with 13 assists and added nine goals in 28 appearances. Dunbar signed with ATL UTD 2 ahead of the 2026 season after three seasons with USL Championship side Orange County SC. The former Los Angeles Galaxy Academy product previously made a combined 20 MLS appearances with the Galaxy and Minnesota United.
Senanou, 23, has made 27 appearances and recorded a goal and an assist in MLS NEXT Pro this season. He signed with ATL UTD 2 ahead of the 2026 season after spending the 2025 season with Colorado Rapids 2 in MLS NEXT Pro. The Plainfield, Ill. native was selected sixth in the 2025 MLS SuperDraft by Colorado Rapids. Out of Xavier University, Senanou became the program’s highest-ever selection, while also helping Xavier win its first BIG EAST Championship. Prior to playing for the Musketeers, Senanou began his collegiate career at the University of North Carolina where he made the NCAA tournament in both of his seasons with the Tar Heels.
