ATL UTD 2 is coming off a 0-0 draw at home against Orange County SC last Friday, May 27. A stellar defensive performance secured Atlanta its first clean sheet of the season.

For the first time this season, head coach Jack Collison’s XI featured a back three of Noah Cobb, Aiden McFadden and Nelson Orji against Orange County SC.

All three defenders put in a solid shift against two high-scoring forwards in Milan Iloski and Erick “Cubo” Torres.

Named man of the match for his performance, Cobb won a game-high eight duels. The 16-year-old also won all three of his tackles.

No player for either team won possession more times than Orji, as the Nigerian stripped Orange County of the ball 11 times on the night.

McFadden swept away any danger proficiently, tying a career-high six clearances against the California outfit.

Rio Grande Valley currently sits 10th in USL Championship’s Western Conference, having come off a 3-2 loss against conference leaders San Antonio FC.

Leading the team in scoring with four goals, Frank López is a prolific striker in USLC. The Cuban forward has racked up 36 goals in his four years in the league, having played for five different USLC teams in that time.

The Toros are affiliated with MLS club Houston Dynamo and are also managed by former Dynamo manager Wilmer Cabrera.
