October international window sees eight Atlanta United players away with national teams

For the last time in the 2025 MLS regular season, select 5-Stripes will depart from Atlanta and scatter across the globe.

The FIFA window for international matches began yesterday October 6 and runs through October 14. Atlanta United will play a road match against Inter Miami during that time on October 11, giving new faces an opportunity to shine.

For now, 17s turn to the TVs to tune in to see their 5-Stripes suit up in their national team colors. Eight First Team players in total will be representing their nations. Luke Brennan has already been away for two matches now, representing the United States in the FIFA Men's U-20 World Cup in Chile. Here's the list of the other seven, with details on where and when they're playing:

🇵🇾 Paraguay men's national team · Atlanta United

Miggy will be doing quite a lot of flying in the coming days. Paraguay will travel across the world to play a pair of Asian teams, first Japan then Korea Republic in two friendlies. Paraguay qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the September international window and is now ramping up to face more competition of that caliber. The two Asian sides are both qualified for the competition as well.

Hernández and his Venezuelan national team came up just short of World Cup qualification in their last time together. Now, La Vinotinto regroup for a pair of friendlies against two other teams from the Americas. Miami will get a chance to see Venezuela and Argentina square off, then it's off to Chicago for a match against Belize.

Saba earns his third consecutive call up to the Georgian national team, and he'll have two tough opponents to face. They'll squares off against Spain and Türkiye, both World Cup qualifiers. Georgia is in second place in group E with three points after just two matches played, and they're sat in between the two sides they'll face in this window. It'll be a huge opportunity for Saba and his squad to inch closer to their first ever World Cup qualification.

Enea Mihaj leaves for his first international break as a 5-Stripe. The center back will join the Albanian national team for a fierce matchup against Serbia Saturday in European World Cup qualifying. Then, Mihaj and his side will host Jordan in a friendly. The Albanians are in second place in group K, only trailing England. The Serbia match will be huge, as Albania has one more point than their Eastern European counterparts coming into the match.

Miranchuk will join the Russia National Team for two friendlies. Russia is still banned from playing official FIFA competitions and is not able to play in the World Cup qualifiers. The Russians will take on Iran in Volgograd, Russia and then host Bolivia in Moscow.

Slisz will join Poland for two matches across eastern Europe. Their first match Thursday comes against New Zealand at home in Chorzów, Poland in a friendly. Then, they'll play a critical European World Cup Qualifier at Lithuania Saturday. The Poles are in second place in group G, good for a playoff spot that could send them to North America in 2026. They are tied with the Netherlands on 10 points, with first place in the group earning automatic World Cup qualification.

Cooper Sanchez, who signed a First Team contract back in early August, joins the U.S. U-17 Men's National Team for training camp in Fayetteville, Ga. The camp will be the last time the U-17 team gets together before a roster is chosen for the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar. That competition will take place November 3-27.
