He's waited his turn. Now, it's his time to show what he can do.Â
Cayman Togashi is preparing to make his first career MLS start. After making 10 appearances as a substitute for Atlanta United since signing ahead of the 2025 season, the Japanese American forward has a chance to change the match from the first whistle.Â
Togashi will start for head coach Tata Martino for the first time since scoring in Atlanta United's Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match against Chattanooga FC April 15. Joining him in the attack will be stand-in captain Alexey Miranchuk and Luke Brennan.Â
In defense, it's Lucas Hoyos in goal alongside Matt Edwards, Juan Berrocal, Stian Gregersen and ElÃas Báez. Edwards continues to fill in for Tomás Jacob as he recovers from a lower leg injury.
The middle of the park features a veteran and two youngsters — Tristan Muyumba, Jay Fortune and Cooper Sanchez. It's the deepest area of the pitch for Atlanta United, and where head coach Tata Martino said he's been impressed so far this season.
