Home wins are fun, but there's something extra special about a result on the road. Atlanta United Unified took their chances on their first away trip of 2026. The 5-Stripes came back from a deficit to win 2-1 over Philadelphia Union Unified, securing their first win of the season and continuing an unbeaten streak dating back to 2023.

The 5-Stripes' Unified side trained and traveled just like the First Team to Philly. In two 25-minute halves at WSFS Bank Sportsplex, the two teams laid it all out there.

In a match that was end to end for the majority of the afternoon, the 5-Stripes went for the three points. Alex Evans put on quite the display on the left wing, with incisive runs to create chances.

Alexander Guerrero started in net and made a two-handed save on a longshot in the 9th minute. He was confident not only as a shot-stopper, but also as a distributor with his feet. The goalkeeper kept his first career clean sheet in the first half.

Unified's top goalscorer Xavier Hairston hit the crossbar in the 24th minute, just inches away from sending the 5-Stripes ahead right before the end of the first half.

Philadelphia Union went ahead in the 30th minute with a one-man breakaway, but the 5-Stripes responded with pressure. Midfielders Ike Eiswirth and Conor Mcilhinney drove the ball forward, and in the 36th minute, Hairston got Atlanta United their equalizer.

Liam Stuart scored his first goal of the season in the 43rd, staying persistent to turn in a rebound off a save. The winger's performance on the afternoon was a model of resilience.
