Atlanta selected Gordon Wild with the No. 37 pick in the 2018 MLS SuperDaft. He then joined Charleston Battery on a season-long loan Feb. 15, 2018. Wild, a Generation Adidas selection, started 55 out of 56 games of his three-year college career and scored 38 goals. Prior to his collegiate career, Wild was a part of the Mainz Youth Academy.
2018 (Charleston Battery): In his first season as a professional, Wild shined for the Charleston Battery on a season long loan. He made 33 appearances, 20 of which were starts, and logged 1,846 minutes in his first season. The German striker scored seven goals and added three assists in 2018. Six of his seven goals came with his dynamic left foot, while four of them were from outside the box.
2017 (University of Maryland): Made 19 appearance with 18 starts, collected five goals and two assists. Named to the preseason MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List.
2016 (University of Maryland): Scored 17 goals in 21 games as a sophomore. After a standout season, he was a 2016 USC First Team All-American, Big Ten Conference Offensive Player of the Year, First Team All-Big Ten and the Big Ten Tournament’s Most Valuable Offensive Player.
2015 (USC Upstate): Started 15 games and scored 16 goals for University of South Carolina Upstate in 2015 where he was named the Atlantic Sun Conference Rookie of the Year and a First Team All-Atlantic Sun selection
