Career Summary

A former first-round draft pick by Houston Dynamo in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft, Cochran spent his last two seasons playing for St. Louis FC in the USL. Prior to joining St. Louis FC, Cochran made two appearances for Charleston Battery while on loan from Houston. Cochran made 26 MLS appearances in two seasons for the Dynamo. Three-year starter at the University of Wisconsin prior to signing a Generation Adidas deal in 2014.

2017 (St. Louis FC): Made 19 appearances for the USL squad in 2017. Scored his only goal in a 2-0 win at home against Toronto FC II (June 3). US Open Cup: Played all 180 minutes in two appearances against Michigan Bucks (May 31) and Chicago Fire (June 15).

2016 (St. Louis FC):  After trialing with the Colorado Rapids for the 2016 MLS pre-season, Cochran signed with USL club Saint Louis FC on March 6. Recorded one assist in a 2-2 draw against Oklahoma City Energy FC on Sept. 25. Made 27 appearances for 2,430 minutes. US Open Cup: Played 90 minutes in single appearance of a 2-0 loss to Minnesota United FC.

2015 (Charleston Battery): Made two appearances for the Battery while on loan from Houston.

2015 (Houston Dynamo): Made seven appearances with Dynamo in 2015, starting at left and center back. US Open Cup: Made three starts against Austin Aztex (June 18), Colorado Rapids (July 1) and Sporting Kansas City (July 22).

2014 (Houston Dynamo): Drafted No. 16 overall by Houston Dynamo in the first round of the 2014 MLS SuperDraft. Cochran made his professional debut during a 4–1 loss to FC Dallas (April 5). Cochran made 19 appearances for the Dynamo in 2014.

INTERNATIONAL: Cochran has represented the U.S. National Team at the U-18, U-20 and U-23 levels. Started for U.S. U-23’s in a 5-1 win vs. Bahamas senior national team in Nassau, Bahamas as part of 18-man U-23 national team camp.  Invited to camp with the United States U-20 national team in January 2012. Traveled with the United States U-18 national team to Argentina and Chile in 2011.

COLLEGE: Started in 58 games over three seasons for the University of Wisconsin. Cochran was named First-Team All-American, Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and a Hermann Trophy Semifinalist during the 2013 season. Cochran scored three goals as a junior and led the defense to seven shutouts over 21 games. Cochran led the Badgers to the NCAA tournament in 2013, the program’s first appearance since winning the title in 1995.
