Match Preview: Atlanta United 2 vs Louisville City FC

Atlanta United 2 returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 29 when it faces Louisville City FC at Coolray Field. The match is scheduled to kick off at 7:00 p.m. EST and will be streamed live on ESPN+.

ATL UTD 2 and Louisville City FC will square off in the third meeting between the two teams Saturday night. Louisville is currently third in the Eastern Conference and just two points behind second place Pittsburgh Riverhounds.

ATL UTD 2 fell 2-0 to Nashville SC Wednesday night at Coolray Field. ATL UTD 2 put more shots on frame and dominated possession, but a goal in each half from Nashville handed the visitors the season sweep.

Louisville City downed Ottawa Fury FC 4-0 last Saturday at Louisville Slugger Field. Cameron Lancaster scored two goals to bring his season total to 21 and extend his Golden Boot lead.

Atlanta drew Louisville 1-1 in the teams’ first meeting April 21 at Coolray Field. Andrew Carleton scored his first professional goal, a 90+1’ minute equalizer from the penalty spot. Louisville stole three points with a late goal of its own in the second match. After goals from Lancaster and Laurent Kissiedou in the first half set the score at 1-1, Luke Spencer drew a penalty in the 90th minute. Substitute Ilija Ilić converted the penalty in the 90+1’ minute to hand Louisville a 2-1 win.
