Atlanta United 2 announced that its opening match of the USL Championship’s return to play will take place on July 11 at 7:30 p.m. ET against Tampa Bay Rowdies at Al Lang Stadium. The match will be streamed on ESPN+.
The USL Championship announced the opening weekend of games that will kick off the league’s resumption of the 2020 season. Nine games are scheduled between July 11-13, with five of those contests to be aired live on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes.
Atlanta’s only match of the 2020 season to-date occurred on March 8 against Charleston Battery. For the remaining 15 matches of the 2020 USL Championship regular season, Atlanta United 2 has been placed in Group H with the Battery, Miami FC and Tampa Bay. Over the course of the season, they will play each of the other Group H teams four times, while the remaining matches will come against teams in proximate geographic regions.
