Recap=ATLvSKC

Atlanta United 2 battled back twice to draw 2-2 with Sporting KC II in the final match of the five-game homestand. Coleman Gannon notched his second goal of the season, while Bradley Kamdem Fewo secured his first goal of the season in the second half to help Atlanta earn a point at home. Atlanta still sits in second place in the Central Division with 12 points.

Atlanta patiently kept possession for the majority of the first half. However, SKC II saw the first opportunity of the match in the 9th minute. Amadou Dia served in a corner kick and found Daniel Barbir at the back post, where he volleyed the ball to Ropapa Mensah who hit a one time shot into Alec Kann. Then off the rebound, Enoch Mushagalusa tried to finish the play with a header, but it went over the goal.

Kann’s name was called upon again in the 23rd minute. Rojay Smith sent in a low-driven cross into the box to Mensah, where he tried to slip a one-time shot, but Kann came up with a kick save to keep the game scoreless.

In the 61st minute, SKC II opened the scoring when Mushagalusa dribbled down the left side of the eighteen-yard box, and he cut it back to his right foot and fired a shot into the side netting.

Atlanta found the equalizer in the 67th minute when Connor Stanley earned a free kick. Aiden McFadden played a ball into the six-yard box, where Kamdem Fewo beat the goalkeeper to the ball with his head and the ball found its way across the line. Kansas City responded shortly after with its second goal in the 69th minute. Mushagalusa netted his second of the night after driving the length of the field into the six-yard box where he slipped it past Kann.

With possession deep in the final third, ATL UTD 2 found the equalizer again in the 74th minute. David Mejia played in a driven ball into the box, where it was deflected by a defender to the top of the box, and Gannon buried a left-footed shot. Atlanta continued to push forward in search of the game winner. In the 85th minute, the best opportunity came when McFadden found an open Mejia in the box, but the 17-year-old placed his shot just wide.

ATL UTD 2 (3-2-3, 12 points) will return to action against Memphis 901 FC, June 16 at AutoZone Park (ESPN+, 8:30 p.m. ET).
