The September international break of the 2025 MLS season is upon us, and Atlanta United is once again at the forefront of teams sending their players abroad. Nine members of the 5-Stripes will represent their nations over the September 3-9 window, all of them first team players.
Similar to the last international break, Atlanta United will not play an MLS match, which will allow the team to rest before the next home match vs Columbus Crew (Sat., September 13 | 7:30 p.m. | View tickets).
Here's a comprehensive guide to tracking your very own Atlanta United players as they're scattered across the globe:
Atlanta United's captain will represent Paraguay for the last two rounds of the South American FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers. Paraguay sits in fifth place in the CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifying standings, and back in June secured at least an inter-continental playoff spot. The top six in CONMEBOL will earn an automatic berth to the World Cup, which means La Albirroja only needs one point in these next two matches to qualify to their first World Cup since 2010 when they reached the quarterfinals. Ecuador at home and Peru away, Sept. 4 and 9, respectively, are the rivals in front of Miggy and his whole country, which has been waiting for this moment for 16 years. Argentina, Ecuador and Brazil have already qualification to the 2026 World Cup, while Uruguay, Paraguay, Colombia, Venezuela and Bolivia are still on the hunt for the remaining three spots; Peru still has a limited chance to advance to the inter-continental playoff.

Ronald Hernández earned his first international call up since 2022, ending a three year absence with La Vinotinto. Venezuela will play their two most important matches in the history of the National Team, first against Argentina away, and Colombia at home. Venezuela, the only South American team to never play in a World Cup needs to win both matches to secure direct qualification to the 2026 FIFA World Cup. La Vinotinto currently sits in the seventh position of the qualifiers which grants a spot in the inter-confederation playoff, and even if they lose both matches they could still advance to the playoffs if Bolivia loses both of their matches and Peru loses at least one. Argentina, Ecuador and Brazil have already qualification to the 2026 World Cup, while Uruguay, Paraguay, Colombia, Venezuela and Bolivia are still on the hunt for the remaining three spots; Peru still has a limited chance to advance to the inter-confederation playoff.
