NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Following an extended lightning delay, Atlanta United's MLS match against Nashville SC is set to resume tonight. Barring no further lightning strikes close to the stadium, warm-ups are scheduled to begin at 10:45 p.m. ET with play resuming at approximately 11:07 p.m. ET.
Additionally, the TV broadcast was moved to FS2. The halftime period has been shortened to 10 minutes.
The match kicked off as scheduled at 7:55 p.m. ET and went into the 19th minute with the score tied 0-0. Then, the referee signaled to lightning in the area and that the teams should exit the field. The original result was a 30-minute delay, but lightning continued. The delay lasted two hours and 52 minutes.
