Atlanta United remains in qualifying positions after opening day of the EA Sports Cup

Once again London hosted the best gamers of the planet, for the inaugural EA Sports Cup, which kicked off the 2022-23 EA Sports FIFA Global Series (FGS) season.

Atlanta United, with their recently announced duo Paulo Neto & Young, were seeded into Group C - the Group of Death - with other four powerhouses in the FIFA Gaming community. On Monday, the Brazilian gamers played the first round of the tournament which consists of 20 teams divided into four groups of five teams each.

The first game saw Atlanta United fall 6-1 vs DUX Gaming, but the Brazilian duo was able to bounce back and beat Team Falcons 4-0, before drawing 2-2 vs Fnatic and 3-3 vs Riders Movistar.

Round 2 of the EA Sports Cup for Group C will be played on Monday, November 14, also in London and Atlanta United will play against the same opponents. The first three teams in each group will qualify to the knockout stages of the competition, and currently the 5-Stripes sit in the third position of their group with 5 points, two less than Riders Movistar who lead the group.
