After what was one of the more physical affairs of the 2026 regular season so far, Atlanta United has a group of players whose eligibility for their match tomorrow is still up in the air. The 5-Stripes are set to kick off against Chattanooga FC in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round of 32 match Wednesday, April 15.Â
The 5-Stripes could very well rotate the squad in a Cup matchup, but head coach Tata Martino and Enea Mihaj emphasized they won't be taking Chattanooga lightly. With five players listed as either out or questionable, though, changes may be necessary.Â
The four questionable players include Steven Alzate, Stian Gregersen, Latte Lath and Saba Lobjanidze. Alzate's status is up in the air with an adductor injury, and Gregersen may or may not play after undergoing wisdom teeth removal surgery this week.
Meanwhile, Latte Lath and Lobjanidze are dealing with leg injuries they picked up from rough tackles in the Chicago Fire match last Saturday. Martino spent time during yesterday's media availability discussing how he felt the tackle on Lobjanidze was worthy of more punishment from the official, but the 5-Stripes are moving on to Wednesday and hoping Saba can still feature.Â
Forward Sergio Santos remains out with a calf injury, meaning the forward group for the 5-Stripes might be a few players lighter than normal. Tomorrow's starting lineup could be a compelling look into Atlanta United's depth down the squad.
