Availability report: No changes to eligibility from weekend

Playing just four days after their match against Toronto FC, there are no changes to Atlanta United's availability report from over the weekend. The 5-Stripes, who practiced at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Training Ground yesterday and today, are eager to get back out on the pitch at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Though a couple of key defenders won't be eligible for selection Wednesday night when Atlanta welcomes Chicago Fire into town at 7:30 p.m. ET, they made strides towards being healthy again this week.

Stian Gregersen and Derrick Williams, two of Atlanta United's most capped defenders, are still recovering from lower-body injuries. Gregersen is progressing in rehab of his quad injury that has sidelined him for almost three months. Williams hurt his foot against New York City June 12 and is also still working to match fitness. The two were both participants in training this week, getting back into the flow of drills with other players as opposed to just doing individual work.

Head coach Ronny Deila said it may take Gregersen more time to be match ready due to how long he's been out, but he was encouraged that the Norwegian center back is able to join the rest of the squad in training.

"[He] will take little more time, but we are happy to have the whole group together [so] that we can get to a very good level," Deila said.

Josh Cohen and Jay Fortune remain out with arm and foot injuries, respectively. Cohen should still be a couple of weeks away from a return based on the original time frame the club announced. Fortune, as the club also announced, is out for the season after having a successful foot surgery.
