FIFAe WC Preview

Paulo Neto will represent Atlanta United among the world's best 24 gamers.

The Brazilian is the only eMLS representative in the competition which will be played from Sunday, July 16 to Wednesday, July 19 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Neto will be the top seed in Group C, which includes five other participants.

How to Watch the FIFAe World Cup?

  • The tournament will be streamed on the FIFAe Twitch and YouTube channels, on FIFA.gg, and on FIFA+, the organization's free streaming service.
  • Atlanta United Gaming Twitter account, @ATLUTDGaming, will also be covering the event on location.
  • You can also watch the live broadcast on ATLUTD.com/Live.

How does Paulo compare to his opponents in Group C?

Paulo Neto comes to the competition ranked No. 5 in the South America, which puts him as the top seed of the group. He also just won the FIFAe Nations Cup with the Brazilian National eTeam this past week, which gives him a boost of energy coming into the FIFAe World Cup. This will be Paulo's third FIFAe World Cup, having advanced to the Quarterfinals last year in Copenhagen.

On paper, the toughest opponents are Obrun2002 from Italy who made it to the Third Place in last year's FIFAe World Cup in Copenhagen, and Jonny one of the top three gamers in the German FIFA circuit, who beat Paulo in this year's EA FGS Playoffs in the first round. Although, Paulo and Obrun2002 are the only ones with past FIFAe World Cup experience, anyone in the group has the potential to make it ti the Knockout Rounds.

How did Paulo Neto qualify?

The top competitors in regional qualifiers, including Paulo, participated in several qualifying events, earning ranking points along the way and alongside league partners and confederation tournaments.

Only the best players from regional leaderboards and partners made it to the EA FGS Playoffs play-in in an attempt to qualify for the EA SPORTS FIFA 23 Global Series Playoffs. From there, they had to compete to be among the 24 players qualifying for the FIFAe World Cup 2023™.

For being the runner-up of the eMLS Cup, Paulo qualified directly to the EA FGS Playoffs, where he lost his first match-up, but bounced back via the lower bracket to make it into the FIFAe World Cup 2023™.
