Atlanta returns to BBVA Field for a second-straight road match against Birmingham. It will be the third of four meetings between the two clubs this season. Originally, the second meeting was on June 30, but the match was postponed due to inclement weather and it was rescheduled to this Wednesday, August 4. Going into Wednesday, Birmingham holds a 1-0-1 advantage against ATL UTD 2 this season. Birmingham sits in second in the Central Division with 26 points, while Atlanta is in fifth with 18 points.

On Saturday, the two clubs played to a 2-2 draw. In the 35th minute, Atlanta took the lead when Aiden McFadden scored his sixth goal of the season. However, Birmingham scored two unanswered goals from Neco Brett and Junior Flemmings in the second half to take over the lead. Then in stoppage time, Darwin Matheus scored a late equalizer to help Atlanta earn a point on the road. 


ATL UTD 2 is owned and operated by AMB Sports & Entertainment and is the United Soccer League Championship (USL Championship) affiliate of Major League Soccer’s Atlanta United. ATL UTD 2 joined the USL for its expansion 2018 season and plays its home matches at Fifth Third Bank Stadium in Kennesaw, Georgia.
