Miles Robinson named to USMNT 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup roster

ATLANTA —Atlanta United defender Miles Robinson has been named to the U.S. Men’s National Team roster for the upcoming 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup by head coach B.J. Callaghan, U.S. Soccer announced today.

The BioSteel USMNT Training Camp opens June 20 in Chicago ahead of the team’s first group stage match against Jamaica on June 24 at Soldier Field. The USMNT will then face an opponent still to be determined based on the Gold Cup Prelims in its second group stage match at CITYPARK in St. Louis on June 28 before closing out the Group A play against Nicaragua on July 2 at Charlotte’s Bank of America Stadium. A full 2023 Gold Cup schedule is available HERE.

Based on the Gold Cup Prelims draw, the remaining team in Group A could be one of four possibilities: Curaçao, French Guiana, Sint Maarten or St. Kitts and Nevis. The Prelims Round will run from June 16-20 at DRV PNK Stadium in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

Robinson is one of five players who will be a part of both the USMNT Concacaf Nations League and Gold Cup squads. The team is currently preparing for its semifinal against Mexico on June 15 in Las Vegas, with the winner to face either Panama or Canada in the final on June 18. Robinson has 21 caps and three goals with the USMNT, earning his senior team debut on Sept. 6, 2019 coming on as a substitute in a friendly against Mexico. The center back started all six matches and scored two goals at the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup where he helped the U.S. secure five clean sheets and scored the game-winning goal in the final as the U.S. beat Mexico 1-0. He started 11 of 14 World Cup Qualifiers this past cycle, helping the USMNT qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
