Miguel Almirón has written his name in Atlanta United history many times before. Saturday afternoon's accomplishment was just another line of excellence, a note that won't go forgotten in a career full of milestones. The captain and club legend made his 100th appearance in all competitions for Atlanta United against San Diego. He became the 10th player in club history to reach a century of caps.

It was a match of ups and downs, but as he always does, Miggy kept running, head down, determined as ever.

What could've been a moment to remember in his 100th match with the club was ruled out. Miggy did a lovely bit of work to round the keeper and score after bringing in an over-the-top through ball in the 26th minute, but his run was barely early. The offsides flag went up, and Almirón got right back to the grind.

Then, when Jamal Thiaré went down in the box to start the second half, Almirón had another chance at a memorable goal. With this one, he would leave no doubt, striking the ball past the outstretched hand of CJ Dos Santos in goal and scoring the equalizing goal in the 61st minute.

The goal broke Almirón's tie with Thiago Almada for the second most goals in Atlanta United's history. The Paraguayan now sits on 27, only trailing another club legend in Josef Martínez.

Almirón, never one to focus on individual accolades, will regret not being able to walk away with three points. Still, the 5-Stripes battled to a draw against a strong San Diego side that sits atop the Western Conference. Almirón and his squad will have four more matches in MLS regular season play to build momentum heading into the 2026 season.
