MLS Announces Remaining Regular Season Schedule

Major League Soccer today announced the schedule and broadcast details for the remainder of the 2020 MLS Regular Season. The regular season culminates with MLS Decision Day 2020 presented by AT&T on Sunday, Nov. 8.  In addition to the previous schedule announcement, Atlanta United will play five home matches and six away matches to close out the 2020 regular season. 


Earlier today, AMB Sports + Entertainment announced that Atlanta United and the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons will invite fans in limited capacity to Mercedes-Benz Stadium beginning with the Falcons’ home game vs. the Carolina Panthers on Oct. 11.


The final two Atlanta United home matches of the regular season to be played on Oct. 24 and Nov. 1 will have fans in attendance in limited capacity.  Atlanta United season ticket members will receive further communication on ticket allocation which will begin the week of Oct. 5.


In addition to the previously announced matches at home against FC Dallas (Sept. 23) and away against Chicago Fire (Sept. 27), Atlanta United’s remaining nine matches are listed here:

Atlanta (3-7-2, 11 points) will travel to DC United on Saturday, Oct. 3 (7:00 p.m., FOX Sports Southeast) for its first meeting of 2020. The club will host both Orlando City SC on Wednesday, Oct. 7 (7:00 p.m., FOX Sports Southeast) and New York Red Bulls on Saturday, Oct. 10 (6:00 p.m., FOX Sports South) before a two-match road swing.


Atlanta will travel to Miami to face expansion side Inter Miami CF for the fourth and final time of the regular season on Wednesday, Oct. 14 (8:00 p.m., FOX Sports Southeast) and will then travel to Hartford, Connecticut to face Toronto FC on Sunday, Oct. 18 (7:30 p.m., FOX Sports Southeast) at Toronto’s temporary venue of Rentschler Field.


DC United makes its first visit to Atlanta on Saturday, Oct. 24 (7:30 p.m., FOX Sports Southeast) which will be the first Atlanta United home match to have fans in attendance in limited capacity.


The team then heads back on the road for a nationally televised matchup against Orlando City SC on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at Exploria Stadium (7:30 p.m., FS1).


Atlanta’s final home match of the regular season will come against FC Cincinnati on Sunday, Nov. 1 (7:00 p.m., FOX Sports Southeast) with fans in attendance in limited capacity.


The schedule rounds out on Decision Day at Columbus Crew SC on Sunday, Nov. 8 (3:30 p.m., FOX Sports Southeast).

MLS Decision Day 2020 presented by AT&T will feature all 26 teams in action and could have major implications on the MLS Golden Boot presented by Audi, Supporters’ Shield, and seedings for the Audi 2020 MLS Cup Playoffs. On Decision Day, the 14 Eastern Conference teams will kick off in seven simultaneous games at 3:30 p.m. ET before the 12 Western Conference teams kick off in six simultaneous games at 6:30 p.m. ET. The schedule will feature exclusively intraconference matchups during the final two weeks of the regular season.


MLS clubs will continue to adhere to comprehensive health and safety protocols, including regular testing of players, coaches and essential staff for COVID-19.


MLS Schedule Notes:

  • Broadcast coverage to feature seven games televised on ABC, FOX, and Univision.
  • National broadcast coverage of MLS Decision Day 2020 presented by AT&T will feature an Eastern Conference match on ABC at 3:30 p.m. ET and a Western Conference match on FS1 at 6:30 p.m. ET.
  • Matches have been scheduled to minimize travel time, allowing visiting teams to arrive and depart on match day for the majority of games.
  • No team will play the same opponent more than four times across all phases of regular season competition (including regular season games in MLS markets, and MLS is Back Tournament Group Stage games).


Atlanta United (3-7-2, 11 points) returns to action at Mercedes-Benz Stadium Wednesday, Sept. 23 against FC Dallas (7:00 p.m., FOX Sports South, Sports Radio 92-9 The Game).
