Starting XI and roster notes: ATL UTD repeats lineup in consecutive matches to face New England

NEvATL_Roster

Atlanta United travels to New England to face the Revolution in match up of two Eastern Conference teams.

New England sits 11th in the Conference standings with 32 points, with five more units than Atlanta. This will be the second match for interim head coach Pablo Moreira who took the reins of the northeast side two weeks ago, following the dismissal of Caleb Porter. They come from a defeat against Philadelphia Union 1-0 on the road.

Atlanta United will play the first of their last three road matches of the season, with travels to face LAFC and Inter Miami in the next two weeks, before coming home to host D.C. United on Decision Day at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Atlanta comes from a 1-1 draw at home last weekend vs San Diego FC, and the last away match for the 5-Stripes came in the form of a 1-0 win at Nashville.

While both teams have already been eliminated from Playoff contention, Atlanta will bring out the same lineup which drew vs San Diego, which saw solid defensive by Juan Berrocal and Stian Gregersen. In the midfield Bartosz Slisz and Steven Alzate return to hold the Revolution's attack while Alexey Miranchuk will be back as the team's number 10, which pushes team captain Miguel Almirón to the left wing.

For the first time in MLS Regular Season play Jamal Thiaré is back up front for a fourth consecutive time, although he's already done it in multiple competitions, including the MLS Cup Playoffs last year. Emmanuel Latte Lath is available once again from the bench. Matt Edwards, Jay Fortune and Will Reilly are unavailable due to injury, and Luke Brennan is with the U.S. U-20 national team for the U-20 World Cup.
