Thiago Almada returns from Argentina to warm welcome by ATL UTD Supporters

Thiago Almada, the first-ever active MLS player to win a FIFA World Cup, returned to Atlanta on Saturday morning.

Almada landed at Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport around 6 am on a direct flight from Buenos Aires' Ezeiza Airport, and he was surprised by a group of Atlanta United supporters who were waiting for him at the International Terminal. The ATL UTD midfielder enjoyed some time with his family and friends in his hometown after winning the FIFA World Cup 2022 with Argentina.

Almada and the rest of the group report to the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Training Ground on Sunday for the first day of preseason ahead of the 2023 MLS Regular Season.
