Atlanta is home to the largest tree canopy of any major city. With over 31,000 acres of tree canopy within the city limits, Atlanta truly lives up to it’s nickname, “A City in the Forest.” Atlanta United took inspiration from this namesake and announced the launch of The Forest Kit on Feb. 19, serving as the team’s secondary kit through the 2022 season.
The Forest Kit features shades of deep green and cool mint, and the green colors highlight the kit’s sustainability aspect. The kit is made with 100% recycled fabric, reflecting the club’s commitment to environmental sustainability. During the next two seasons, Atlanta United teamed up with Trees Atlanta to plant 1,000 trees across the city.
Thinking about the city and making an impact is nothing new for the club or the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation. The Foundation and Atlanta United have committed to protecting the environment, a commitment that started with making sure Mercedes-Benz Stadium was a LEED Platinum Stadium, becoming the first professional sports stadium in North America to do so. From 4,000 solar panels that generate renewable energy for the city’s power grid to a water conservation system that helps neighboring communities from flooding, “green” is engrained in the fabric of club and our kit.
