Career Summary

Meza joined Atlanta United on Jan. 10, 2020. The Argentine defender has 13 years of professional experience in Argentina, Chile, Mexico and the United States.

The center back is a native of San Martín, Argentina and started his career in San Lorenzo’s youth academy. He was signed to the senior team in 2008 and made his professional debut against Boca Juniors on March 11. Meza played seven years with San Lorenzo while spending time on-loan with Olimpo and Chilean Club San Marcos.

Meza transferred to Palestino of Chile in 2015 where he made 23 appearances in league play. He then moved to Necaxa in July 2016 where he made 13 appearances across the Apertura and Clausura campaigns and scored one goal. Meza returned to Chile to play for Colo-Colo in January 2017 where he made 25 appearances in all competitions and won the Primera División and the Supercopa de Chile. The Argentine again returned to Necaxa in January 2019 where he made 39 appearances across all competitions that season.

2020 (Atlanta United): Started all 17 of his appearances across all competitions. Started 13 matches in MLS play. Concacaf Champions League: Started all four matches against FC Motagua and Club América as part of a backline that kept two clean sheets.

2019 (Necaxa): Made 39 appearances across all competitions. Recorded three assists.

2017-18 (Colo Colo): Made 25 appearances across all competitions as Colo Colo won the Primera Division and the Supercopa de Chile. Made two appearances in Copa Libertadores. Scored one goal.

2016-17 (Necaxa): Made 13 appearances. Scored one goal.

2015-16 (CD Palestino): Made 32 appearances. Scored three goals.

2014-15 (CD San Marcos de Arica): Made 36 appearances. Scored one goal and tallied two assists.

2013-14 (Club Olimpo): Made seven appearances.

2008-13 (San Lorenzo): Made his debut against Boca Juniors on March 11, 2008. Made 55 appearances.

International: Meza represented Argentina at the U-17 and U-20 levels.
