Atlanta United signs Phillip Goodrum to Short-Term Agreement

Atlanta United announced today that forward Phillip Goodrum has signed a Short-Term Agreement for the club’s Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League Round of 16 match at FC Motagua Tuesday night. The four-day contract allows MLS clubs to sign players on loan from their USL affiliate for U.S. Open Cup, CONCACAF Champions League, AMWAY Canadian Championship and exhibition matches. Goodrum, who was selected by Atlanta with No. 75 overall pick in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft, signed with ATL UTD 2.

Goodrum, 22, played four years at UNC Wilmington where he totaled 32 goals and 15 assists in 76 career appearances. The forward received First-Team All-Colonial Athletic Association for his junior and senior seasons where he led the Seahawks to back-to-back 12-win seasons while scoring 12 and 11 goals, respectively. He was one of four players in school history to record back-to-back 10-goal seasons and started every match of his college career. Goodrum helped UNCW reach the NCAA Tournament in 2017 and 2018 while reaching the CAA finals in 2017.
