Atlanta United teams with Truist to donate meals to Marietta City Schools

Atlanta United is working with club partners Truist and Hampton + Hudson to drop off 500 lunches to Marietta City Schools students near Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Training Ground on Friday. The meals will be prepared by Hampton + Hudson for students who normally rely on their school lunch program for daily meals. The meals will be distributed in the Franklin Gateway corridor by staff members from Atlanta United, Marietta City Schools, Hampton + Hudson and Truist.

“We’re proud to join with Hampton + Hudson and Truist Bank on this project, two local businesses who share our commitment to giving back,” Atlanta United Club President Darren Eales said. “Thank you to our partners for their generosity, and to Marietta City Schools for their support in providing meals to students in need.”

“Truist is committed to improving lives and giving back to the communities we serve,” said to Jenna Kelly, Northern Georgia Region President. “We know that summertime is extremely hard for food insecure households, we are proud to partner with Atlanta United, Hampton + Hudson and Marietta City Schools to provide nutritious meals to children when they need them most.”

The donation is part of Atlanta United’s ‘United We Conquer’ initiative, which was announced in early April. ‘United We Conquer’ serves as a platform for the club to give back to the community, acknowledge and support those on the front lines of the COVID-19 crisis and offer resources for fans and community members at atlutd.com/communitypartners.

In May, and in conjunction with American Family Insurance and Gusto!, Atlanta United donated 450 meals to Piedmont Atlanta Hospital nurses during Nurses Appreciation Week (May 6-12). Also, on March 20, club owner Arthur Blank committed more than $5 million through The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation for immediate and long-term recovery assistance to organizations providing critical support throughout Georgia and Montana.
