Atlanta United Inaugural Secondary Kit Released

Secondary Kit Released PR 2017

Atlanta United today released its secondary kit for the club’s inaugural 2017 season. In recognition of the club’s supporters, the kit was hand delivered to 50 fans during half-time of Atlanta United’s first pre-season match vs. Chattanooga FC. Atlanta United players debuted the kit for the second half of the match.

Representing the club’s inaugural 2017 MLS season, Atlanta United recently announced that the number 17 would be dedicated to, and reserved for, the club’s fan base.

“It was important to us that this kit was in the hands of our supporters first,” said Atlanta United President Darren Eales. “Thousands of people in Atlanta signed up for season tickets and showed support for this club before we signed our first player. The fans have been and will be the lifeblood of this club. This kit is inspired by our city, and we look forward to seeing our players and our fans wear it with pride.”

The Atlanta United secondary kit features horizontal tonal grey stripes on the front of the jersey in tribute to Atlanta’s history as a railroad town.  The design is highlighted by a grey and victory red Atlanta United crest on the left chest, featuring the club’s hallmark five stripes. The lifestyle inspired look is complemented by a victory red logo of jersey partner American Family Insurance.

The back of the authentic jersey is solid grey with ATL UTD lettering on the back neck signifying unity with the city. The player’s name and number are also featured in victory red. Showcasing Adidas’ adizero technology, the jersey is the lightest available and comes with a traditional crew neck for player comfort.  The complete kit has two short options, victory red accented with white stripes, and white accented with victory red stripes.  The socks are white and accented with victory red ATL UTD wordmark across the front.

Atlanta United debuted its primary kit on November 15, 2016 in front of a capacity crowd at the Tabernacle downtown.  The primary kit features five vertical stripes and Atlanta United’s core colors: black, victory red and gold.

Atlanta United and American Family Insurance announced a multi-year partnership agreement in July, 2016 making American Family the Official Insurance Partner of Atlanta United and official sponsors of the club’s official kit. The Madison, Wisconsin-based company sponsors several professional sports teams including the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons, Seattle Seahawks, Indianapolis Colts and Green Bay Packers.

Fans are able purchase the kit online at atlutd.com or by visiting the team’s official store in Atlantic Station.
