Atlanta United today revealed its 2018 secondary kit during a sold-out open training session for season ticket holders at the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Training Ground.   The club also held a press conference prior to open training introducing its new Designated Player Ezequiel Barco.

Atlanta United players unveiled the ‘King Peach’ kit, which features a white jersey with peach accents representing a nod to the state’s iconic symbol and to its nickname, “The Peach State.” Prior to one of the club’s home matches at Bobby Dodd Stadium during the 2017 inaugural season, Atlanta United supporters displayed a tifo with a golden crown perched on top of a sweet peach, a statement staking the club’s claim as Kings of the South.

The panel pattern decorating the front of the kit blends tradition and modern originality, inspired by the classic soccer ball design as well as the bold, state-of-the-art Mercedes-Benz Stadium roof. The pattern signifies a tribute to the stadium, Atlanta’s new home for soccer, and now an architectural fixture of the city’s skyline.

Prior to the kit reveal, Atlanta United midfielder Ezequiel Barco was introduced to media at his first press conference since joining the club.  Barco spoke about his decision to join the club alongside Atlanta United Vice President and Technical Director Carlos Bocanegra.

“This is a special day for us,” Bocanegra said. “It just keeps getting better around here it feels like. Ezequiel is an exciting player out of Argentina, already played more than 40 games in the first division of Argentina and comes off winning a title down there with his club team. He’s a young, exciting player we’re looking forward to having out there on the field.”

Atlanta United returns to preseason action on Saturday, Feb. 17, against Columbus Crew SC, the first of the team’s three matches at the Carolina Challenge Cup in Charleston.
