One of Atlanta United’s brightest young talents is being recognized as one of the best in the world. Andrew Carleton has been named in The Guardian’s annual Next Generation list spotlighting the best young talents in world soccer.

Carleton joins prospects from world powerhouses like Real Madrid and Barcelona on the prestigious annual list, and is one of only two MLS players named. It comes after a year full of successes for the Powder Springs native. The 17-year-old made his MLS debut and got his first professional start for Atlanta United, won a U.S. Soccer Development Academy National Championship and was called up to represent the United States at the U-17 FIFA World Cup.

That tournament kicks off Friday, with the U.S facing tournament hosts India in the first round at 10:30 A.M. Stay tuned to ATLUTD.com and all of our social media channels as we follow along with all three Atlanta United players – Carleton, Chris Goslin and Justin Garces – through their journey at the world's biggest international tournament.
