Another milestone to record in the history books, today marked the beginning of the 2017 season for Atlanta United as the team gathered on the field for the very first time.
Yesterday, players and staff departed from Atlanta, GA before landing in Bradenton, FL for the club’s inaugural MLS Preseason. Since arriving at IMG Academy, the players have spent every waking moment together through meals, down time, and their first training sessions as a full group.
Head Coach Tata Martino and co. led the squad through two sessions today with the first starting early this morning and the second following later in the afternoon. Despite being the initial training sessions with an international/multilingual roster and coaching staff, the team chemistry seemed to shape quickly. It’s clear that soccer is a universal language that every member of the club understands.
Atlanta United will continue its preseason agenda at IMG Academy in Florida until the team reports back to Atlanta on Feb. 4. Be sure to follow ATLUTD on social media for exclusive coverage and an inside look at the team’s inaugural preseason training.
