170522 Almiron Team of the Week

Miguel Almirón named to MLS Team of the Week

Atlanta United's number 10 has proven week in and week out that he is one of top playmakers in the league, and on Saturday, Miguel Almirón showcased his ability in front of the net as his three-goal performance powered his side to a 4-1 statement victory over the Houston Dynamo.

Almirón's play on Saturday has earned him a spot in the MLS Team of the Week and marks his first-ever hat trick for the five stripes, scoring in the 30', 42' and 80' to lead Atlanta to their second home victory of the season.

His first two of the match stemmed from the assistance of fellow South American Yamil Asad, setting up Almirón who smashed home both with his dominant left foot. The 23-year-old Paraguayan international then slotted home a penalty to complete the hat trick. You can watch all of his goals in the match highlights including his first finish which opened the scoring that is up for MLS Goal of the Week. You can vote for it here.
