Atlanta United Unified Team Tryouts

Tryout Information

Date: Sunday, November 19th

Check-In Time: 3:30pm

Tryout Time: 4:00-6:00pm

Location: Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Training Ground - 861 Franklin Gtwy SE, Marietta, GA 30067

Deadline to register for tryouts is November 15th at 5:00pm. More information about parking and check-in location will be sent on November 16th. 

By registering for the Atlanta United Unified 2024 Team tryouts, you are acknowledging that IF you are selected to the 2024 Atlanta United Unified Team:

• You will be representing Atlanta United and the Atlanta United Unified Team at all times from the moment you are selected until you are no longer on the team.
• You will be held to a high standard of respect, commitment and character.

You will be required to:

• Attend weekly training sessions at the Atlanta United Training Grounds
• Attend Media day, Signing Day, travel to away matches, attend home match activities and other team events

Atlanta United Front Office and the Atlanta United Unified Team will:

• Treat you with respect
• Provide unique experiences and access
• Create a family culture with you
• Provide as much lead time as possible about additional team events but we ask that you are flexible and make these events a priority in your schedule

By registering you are also acknowledging that you fit the criteria as determined below:

Status

• Athlete = You are a registered or can be registered as an individual with intellectual disabilities per Special Olympics
• Partner = You are registered or can be registered as an individual without an intellectual disability per Special Olympics. You are not signed to an amateur, collegiate, semi-professional or professional team. 
  • You can be part of a recreational college team

Age

• Must be in the age range as of January 1, 2023 in order to be considered
  • Athlete = 16-25 years old
  • Partner = 16-21 years old

Transportation

• You have transportation or can arrange transportation to get yourself to trainings every week

Communication

• You have a cell phone and/or email address where you or your parent can receive communication

Character

• Athlete = You are respectful and can listen to your partners, coaches and Atlanta United Front Office staff for instructions
• Partner = You are respectful and can listen to your coaches and Atlanta United Front Office staff for instructions. You must also be able to put the athlete first in helping, being a leader on and off the field and can guide the athlete to find the right solution

Media

• Being a part of the Atlanta United Unified Team means being open to telling your story, having your photos, being in front of a camera, doing interviews and being open to telling your story to the public. We have heavy media involvement and need all team members and their families to be acceptable of this.
