Academy prospect Lagos Kunga also named to 25-player roster

Atlanta United announced today that defender Miles Robinson and academy forward Lagos Kunga have been called into the U.S. U-20 training camp that will take place from April 3-10 in London, England. U-20 head coach and Youth Technical Director Tab Ramos called 25 players into camp, where the team will compete in several scrimmages in preparation for the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Korea Republic. The U.S. open group play against Ecuador on May 22.

Robinson, 20, was also called into the team’s January camp and made eight appearances, all starts, for the U-20’s in 2016. He started all three games in the U-20’s run to win the 2016 NTC Invitational title against Costa Rica (June 29), Panama (July 1) and Japan (July 3) held in Carson, Calif. Atlanta selected Robinson with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft. In two years at Syracuse, the center back started 42 games and scored eight goals for the Orange. As a sophomore he was named the 2016 ACC Defensive Player of the Year.

Kunga, 18, is a highly rated academy prospect currently playing for Atlanta United’s U-18’s. This is his first call-up with the U.S. U-20’s. The forward has committed to play for Furman University this fall.
