The day has finally arrived: Atlanta United’s first match at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. It’s a day that everyone associated with the club has been waiting for, but a new home means a new routine and a few new ways to enjoy matchday. So here’s a full walkthrough of everything you need to know for your first Mercedes-Benz Stadium experience.

Before you leave the house

Before you even leave the house – take a second. Head to our website and download the official Atlanta United app. This will be very useful throughout the day, including getting to the stadium. Next, check out our entertainment guide and schedule to determine when and where you want to get to the stadium on matchday. And make sure you’ve read up on the Clear Bag Policy – an important safety precaution, but one you need to take note of before you leave the house.

Getting to the stadium

You’re wearing your Five-Stripe kit, you’ve downloaded the app – now it’s time to head to the stadium. Click here to see our transportation guide, for a complete explanation of how to get to Mercedes-Benz Stadium, where to park and more. If you want to skip traffic, we have bike valet for beltliners, an official partnership with Lyft for ride-sharers and the stadium is located right outside a MARTA station. The Official Atlanta United App has real-time train arrival times to make sure you’re in place in time for kickoff.

Now you’re at the stadium, but you better give yourself plenty of time – there’s plenty to do before kickoff. Four hours before the match starts, the American Family Insurance Fan Village opens, as well as the parking for tailgaters. Check out our stadium guide to make sure you have the lay of the land – we have stadium maps for every floor as well as the exterior and parking options. Head to the front porch (in front of gate 2) to sign the club’s Golden Spike 90 minutes before kickoff, and participate in the Supporters March soon after.

Getting to your seat

OK, kickoff is coming up – time to head into the stadium, and the Official Atlanta United App will be a huge help once again. That will help you find food, restrooms, your seats and other points of interest around the stadium. If you need a late addition to your gear collection, head to the Official Team Store, located between gates 3 and 4. Keep in mind the supporters sections – sections 101, 102 and 136 – are general admission. While tickets may show a seat number, seats in those section are general admission and not reserved. You can also order food ahead of time at any of our world-class food options – a brand new feature that will let you skip the lines at the concession stands.

A few tips for your first Mercedes-Benz Stadium experience: first, your tickets get you anywhere in the stadium, so make sure to check out the Window to the City skywalk, get a couple views of The Halo Board, and more. And if you’re taking MARTA, take the Gate 1 exit when you leave the stadium. That will take you right outside down the largest staircase in the stadium, straight out to the MARTA station outside. Any other questions? The app is your place once again – your matchday concierge, Uncle Arthur, will answer any questions you have right on your phone. Remember, you can walk anywhere in the stadium.

That’s it! You’re ready for your first Mercedes-Benz Stadium experience. Check out our chants page to make sure you’re ready to sing along with another sold-out crowd. Let’s do our city – and our club – proud.
